Your Food Freedom Journey

Visit Us 4 Times a Year—most treatment is done from home.

Treatment options like OIT often require patients to visit their allergist's office weekly or biweekly for hours at a time. Through TIP treatment patients typically visit our treatment centers 4 - 6 times a year and most treatment is done from home. View a breakdown of your patient journey below:

  • Onboarding (1 day):
    • Undergo blood tests and a skin prick test to capture a complete image of the immune system in your first in-person appointment.
  • In-Clinic Launch (5 days):
    • Complete a patch test, receive your customized treatment plan, and begin treatment!
  • At-Home Dosing (9-12 weeks):
    • Escalate calculated amounts of dosing foods over 10-12 weeks according to your plan to prepare for the next in-office visit.
  • In-Clinic Food Challenges (3-5 days per visit):
    • Challenge increased dosages of your at-home dosing foods, introduce new foods, and continue this cycle until you reach the end of your treatment plan. Treatment duration is about 2.5 - 4 years depending on the patient's case.
  • Food Freedom (Remission):
    • Dose the highest amount of your primary allergens without reaction and unlock Food Freedom! Eat as freely as a non-allergic person would and return for annual checkups.

Miles' Story

From every corner of the globe, patients who were turned away by other treatment options have found renewed hope and healing through TIP. Read TIP patient Miles' story below!

"Miles started the program at 18 months old and is going to celebrate his 5th birthday next month without many menu limitations! Each time he has cleared a new food we have celebrated both the new food win and the safety he has gained. Clearing dairy has been our most monumental moment in our journey, and opened the most doors. Dairy is in just about everything. He was beyond excited to try a “normal” donut and dairy ice cream!

We are forever grateful to Dr. Randhawa and all the providers in the TIP program for the gift of safety and freedom. We travel from Toronto for all his appointments, and he loves his fun getaways to California! The program is a huge investment of time, and effort but I would do it again in a heartbeat. It’s by and far one of the best decisions we have ever made!"

We heard about TIP from two good friends from Austria, both of whose children are already in remission. This was the reason why we decided to start TIP too and flew to LA. Something so exciting happened on our very first visit: We were sitting in the waiting area and suddenly heard loud applause and lots of people laughing from the bottom of their hearts. Suddenly we saw what was going on: A child had completed their very last challenge. "That's what food freedom sounds like," I thought, looking at my daughter. I could no longer contain my emotions. I was in tears. I looked at my daughter and said: "Soon we'll be celebrating your Food Freedom too, my darling." It was overwhelming.

Today - some months later, we are already eating the first nuts - without any problems - and the best thing about it: our daughter likes the taste!
